I swam at Oceanside Beach on July 19th '17. Just south of the pier the lifeguards post signs to mark "surfing only" for about 150 yards south. Then southward from there it's posted for swimmers. Soft sand for bare feet with just a few small well-rounded stones. Easy nearby parking (for a price).

They are pretty cool guys. Very helpful. A woman lost her child and for about 45 min two of the younger kids helped look for him through their lunch.

We walked out on this pier and it had great views. It was a bit windy when we went but we'll visit again when we are in the area again.
